Be the Bridge and The Voices Project Grants are Fully Funded!
We have some great news to share!!!
Fulfilling our promise in April 2016 to fund key initiatives towards race reconciliation, we are humbled to announce that our first two grant recipients, Be The Bridge and The Voices Project have been fully funded!
Thanks to your generous giving, each organization was awarded a $40,000 grant towards furthering their work in racial reconciliation.
About The Voices Project
Donna & Leroy Barber, The Voices Project Founders
The Voices Project is a network of African American and other leaders of color dedicated to the support, training and promotion of marginalized voices. Since receiving our grant, The Voices projected completed their 2016 HBCU Reconnect College Tour. Leroy Barber, founder of The Voices Project, released his book Embrace in September 2016. Finally, The Voices Project is preparing for the Breathe Retreat this month. We are thrilled to see how The Voices Project continues to empower and train leaders of color.
About Be the Bridge
Tasha Morrison, Be the Bridge Founder
The Be The Bridge mission is to INSPIRE the Church to have a distinctive and transformative response to racial division and for the Church to be present and intentional towards racial reconciliation. Since receiving our grant, Be the Bridge has grown to over 7,000 Facebook members and has over a 120 groups around the country. Be The Bridge attained their 501 © 3 and held a launch party in October 2016. LaTasha, founder of Be The Bridge, is working on the second edition of the Be The Bridge to Racial Unity Guide. LaTasha and her team are actively training more group leaders and organizing meetings with city officials and church leaders. We are excited to see how Be The Bridge continues to impact communities.
Legacy Collective continues to support the work of racial reconciliation in communities throughout the United States. We believe Be The Bridge and The Voices Project will continue to grow, educate leaders, influence change in local communities.
