Grant Recipient Update: Miracle Foundation
for October 1, 2020
Miracle Foundation (Miracle) has the vision of empowering orphans and vulnerable children to reach their full potential. Miracle has a presence across 19 states throughout India with the mission to support orphans to have a better quality of life while bringing about sustainable change that reduces the need for orphanages. Due to COVID-19, the Miracle has designed a remote education plan with several focus areas. A UNICEF report on the impact of COVID on the lives of 600 million children in SE Asia said despite the measures to use technology for education a large group of children are likely to miss out on distant learning opportunities as only a quarter of households ( 24%) was estimated to have access to the internet. Miracle Foundation has designed a remote education plan and is distributing tablets/smartphones preloaded with education materials and connectivity to the children in our care. To date, we have been able to support more than 12,000 people (1900 families) with food and basic necessities — We are committed to supporting our community through this crisis.
