Help One Now Peru – Meet Lizbeth Eleusy Pérez Tuesta!

weekly update

for February 10, 2021

She is 43 years old and has three children, one of which is enrolled at Kairos College. Lizbeth and her family began experiencing hardship last year, when her husband suffered a stroke and lost mobility to most of his body. With her husband’s inability to work, and their not being able to afford proper healthcare, Lizbeth worked night and day just to meet some of her family’s basic needs. Her eldest children also had to leave their studies at university and begin working to support the family.

This all changed when Lizbeth was introduced to the Family Empowerment Program.

The program gave Lizbeth the resources and training she needed to finally start the business she has always dreamed of. She is now in the process of getting all of the supplies she needs to launch her mini restaurant! Lizbeth’s restaurant will serve regional foods and will be located in one of Iquitos’ main tourist districts near the Amazon River.

Lizbeth has big dreams for her business, and for her future! She hopes to grow and multiply her business in the coming years, providing stability for her family and creating even more jobs for the community. She also hopes that the success of her business this year will allow her children to return to their studies and cover the costs for her husband to get the healthcare he needs to fully recover!

Lizbeth’s dreams can now be realized. This is the hope of the Family Empowerment Program – that families would not only be able to support themselves, but that they would flourish as they lift themselves up and create a future full of opportunity.
