Legacy Collective Partners with Help One Now & Mobile Loaves and Fishes!
for October 13, 2015
We have some exciting news to share!
At the August launch event, we had the privilege of coming to together to celebrate the beginning of something that we believed had the power to change the way we think about giving, how we care for the vulnerable, and to build something together that could significantly change the trajectory of our collective ability to make generational impact in solving some of the world’s most difficult issues.
Today, I am pleased to announce that we have fully funded our first three project commitments
In just a few short months, we have distributed $172,000 towards projects providing permanent solutions for homelessness in central Texas, education for children rescued from trafficking in Haiti, and fully funded a vulnerable family empowerment program in Ethiopia as a means to orphan prevention.
Simply put, these initiatives will change the trajectory of people’s lives for generations. Jen and I cannot begin to express how thankful we are to be a part of this Collective and to join with all of you who are giving so much towards these initiatives. It’s truly amazing to think about what the next few years will look like.
As agreed upon by the collective, our next step will be to bring some focus to finding solutions to help change the plight of millions of refugees in Europe and the Middle East as a result of war and violence.
Over the last few weeks, we have received several highly qualified submissions to be considered for funding by the Legacy Collective. Right now the vetting teams for each of our three giving circles (Members, Partners, & Investors) are reviewing, digging deeper, and are in the process of making recommendations to the Advisory Board for next steps and final determination.
This has been our first opportunity to engage the Collective in submitting initiatives and vetting them and we are really encouraged by the progress and ability to work together as a community. We hope to have a list of our top recommendations for each of you to see in the next week or so. From there, each of our giving circles will choose which of the recommended initiatives we will partner with and decide how much we will give to each.
More to come on this next step, but today we wanted to pause and celebrate the disbursement of the remaining funds to fulfill those commitments we discussed in Austin. Thank you for investing your time, voices and financial resources in this Collective as together we take another step forward.
Humbled to serve with you.
Brandon and Jen
