Legacy Collective is proud to announce that we are jumping in with both feet to serve in two different ways during the Syrian Refugee Crisis!
First, we are proud to partner with A21 (Nick and Christine Caine) with their Project Europe initiative. A21 is primarily an organization that fights Human Trafficking. Project Europe is primarily an effort to prevent trafficking by working directly with relief efforts in Greece and empowering local churches in surrounding countries to help find long term solutions for refugees fleeing to their front steps.
We are granting A21 $89,524 (December 2015) to assist them in their fight to help break cycles (like refugee crisis) that lead towards Human Trafficking.
Second, we are partnering with World Orphans’ Refuge Initiative
in Iraq. Currently World Orphans is housing over 600 refugees with plans to provide permanent housing through villages designed to keep families and regional people groups together. As an established NGO in Iraq, World Orphans will continue to work with local leaders and churches to make this dream a reality.
We are granting World Orphans $125,000 (Jan 2016) to help families with the transition from temporary to permanent housing.
This brings the total amount to just under $400,000 in just a few short months that Legacy Collective has existed. We’re providing sustainable solutions for the homeless in the US, Education for orphans rescued from Human Trafficking in Haiti, partnering in Ethiopia to help vulnerable families stay together as a means to orphan prevention, and now partnering for sustainable housing, relief, and local church engagement for Syrian Refugees.
Wow. Humbling. On behalf of the Legacy Collective board, thank you for being a faithful part of the vision.
