Meet Whitney Otstott, Legacy Collective Board Member!
for October 1, 2020
Hi, I’m Whitney Otstott and my husband Aaron and I joined Legacy Collective in 2017 and became board members in 2018. Legacy Collective educates me about so many different causes and non-profits that I may otherwise never have known about. Because the organizations are thoroughly vetted by Legacy before they’re brought before members to vote, I know they’re high-quality.
My favorite types of organizations focus on women’s empowerment. Earlier this year in March 2020, we funded a non-profit called To Whom It May Concern. Women leaving prison today lack meaningful opportunities to reengage with society, increasing the likelihood they will end up back in jail. To Whom It May Concern stands alongside any woman who wants to beat those odds – providing the support she needs to successfully reintegrate and thrive in her community.
I live in Austin and own two businesses focused on helping women be stronger: GirlPower Life Coaching and GirlPower Fitness. At GirlPower Life Coaching, I coach women to be more confident, find their voice and feel empowered by setting and reaching their goals. At GirlPower Fitness, I offer online group fitness classes available as both live and recorded workouts.
In my free time, I like to read historical fiction and I’m addicted to podcasts. My favorites at the moment are Crime Junkie and Dolly Parton’s America.
