As Texas residents are in crisis – many without electricity, water, gas, and experiencing a food shortage in the midst of freezing temperatures – in coordination with local and community relief agencies, Legacy Collective has prepared a comprehensive response.

Your tax-deductible gift will help address three areas:

(1) Immediate Relief Efforts (shelter, transportation, clean water, etc.)

(2) Food Insecurity

(3) Repair and Rebuilding of Homes

The largest hunger-relief organization in Texas. Together with 21 member food banks, we reach over 4 million Texans annually with food and resources and engage the state in the fight against hunger.

What they are doing right now:

  • Their network of food banks reaches every county in Texas — making them uniquely prepared to serve as a central point of contact for information, resources, and donations.

ADRN is comprised of nearly 200 Greater Austin churches and thousands of trained volunteers bringing hope into crisis. ADRN’s network enables and empowers church members to organize, prepare, mobilize, and respond quickly in the event of disaster, great or small.

What they are doing right now:

  • Emergency Transportation Assistance: Mobilizing 4×4/Off-Road vehicles to transport emergency workers, goods and supplies to more critical sites
  • Emergency Warming Shelters: Mobilizing volunteers across 12 warming shelters in the Austin area to provide residents with a warm safe place to stay

RTH is a core services organization that provides home repairs and modifications at no cost to low-income seniors, U.S. Military Veterans, homeowners with disabilities, and working families impacted by natural disasters in Houston/Harris County.

What they are doing right now:

  • Residents can immediately apply for assistance with plumbing, electrical, foundation, bathroom, interior safety modifications, and exterior repairs to one-story wood-sided homes

We had the privilege of serving well those affected by recent natural disasters and crisis. With more than a half million dollars in money and supplies, Legacy Collective was able to fund numerous sustainable efforts that went way beyond recovery.

Since then, we have been fostering relationships and working with a handful of local government officials behind the scenes, identifying some of the most vulnerable and least supported communities in the US when it comes to crisis.

Need is so different between communities and people groups.

Our goal is simple: to empower local organizations focused on sustainable efforts in ways that maximize philanthropic efforts that won’t have to be redone, undone, or duplicated.

We are partnering with the Austin Disaster Relief Network, FeedingTexas, and Rebuilding Together Houston.

Thank you so much for your help. We love it that Legacy Collective is so uniquely positioned to do good. And we’re so thankful for your gift!
