for the 2nd Quarter of 2021

Selamta Family Project and Hope Partnership
Will Use Funds to Address Systemic Issues

AUSTIN, TEXAS (June 30, 2021) – Legacy Collective, a giving community dedicated to solving systemic issues with sustainable, innovative solutions, announces that Selamta Family Project and Hope Partnership each received a $25,000 grant for the second quarter of 2021. These grants bring Legacy Collective to giving 23 grants so far for 2021, totaling more than $800,000.

Selamta Family Project was established in 2006 and unites 8-10 children from orphanages, the street, and other unsafe situations with a Selamta-trained mother in their own home, integrated into their local community. Selamta Family Project will use the $25,000 Legacy Collective grant to provide the educational, psychosocial, medical, spiritual, and material resources necessary for 20 children to leave government orphanages and join Selamta’s Forever Family Program by August 2021. Selamta’s Forever Family Program is built on a holistic approach that supports youth with wrap-around support in four cornerstone areas: education, health & wellness, psychosocial support, and spiritual development. Read more about the grant here.

Hope Center, an entity of the Partnership, is working to empower low-income, poverty-level neighbors living in and around Osceola County, Florida. Hope works to restore dignity and self-sufficiency to those in need in the community through a holistic approach to case management, funds assistance, and life skills. Hope seeks to improve household self-determined success through one-on-one case management, financial literacy coaching, and employment assistance. Hope has relied on best practices to help individuals forge a path towards self-determined success through a strong Family Advocacy Program that utilizes motivational interviewing and trauma-informed care, and this program is where the $25,000 Legacy Collective grant will be used. “These two organizations are doing such amazing work and we’re honored to come alongside and partner with them,” says Erin Arnheim, CEO of Legacy Collective.  “Both Selamta Family Project and Hope Partnership address systemic issues while providing needs that most of us take for granted: a family, a home, and support systems. No one should go without these things and that’s why we believe so strongly in the work they’re doing.”

Legacy Collective members combine their investment with hundreds of others to fund sustainable world-changing initiatives. Legacy offers four Giving Circle options for individuals.
