We are excited to announce our 1st 2023 Fall Grant Recipient!

Thanks to our generous Legacy Giving Circle donor community, Global Empowerment Mission is receiving a $25,000 grant towards solving humanitarian challenges in the midst of the Israel-Hamas War.

Initiative Location: Egypt

Initiative Cause Areas: Disaster Relief; Human Rights; Immigrant and Refugee Programs

UN Sustainable Development Goals: 10 Reduced Inequities

Initiative Description: This grant application was updated on October 31st due to the changing conditions with the Israel-Hamas War. Please note these efforts are as off 10/31/23 and are subject to change as the needs of those affected change, but Legacy Collective and GEM are committed to supporting those evacuating and in need of assistance equally from both Israel and Gaza.

GEM Bstrong has embarked on a mission to provide immediate relief to families affected by the recent events in Israel and Gaza.

Current Israel Relief: GEM Bstrong in partnership with SmartAID, has embarked on a mission to provide immediate relief to families affected by recent events in Israel.

Current Palestinian Relief: GEM Bstrong in partnership with Anera, has embarked on a mission to provide immediate relief to families affected by recent events in Gaza.

In the current relief efforts, we will split the Legacy funds equally between the two groups.

Once the border to Egypt opens and refugees start evacuating, GEM intends to use funding to assist refugees from both Israel and Gaza fleeing the war zone. The needs will either be immediate relief supplies such as food, tents, cots, etc or temporary relocation assistance. Depending on funding and capacity, GEM is prepared to offer relocation services. The average cost to relocate a family for 30 days is $5,333.
