Each of these LBGTQ+ focused nonprofits will receive funding to continue their amazing work from the funds raised over the next six months in our Mama Bears Giving Circle. These grants will be paid in the fall of 2024. Learn more about the great work of these organizations below.
Free Mom Hugs empowers the world to celebrate the LGBTQIA+ community through visibility, education, and conversation. The organization has chapters in all 50 states and other initiatives forming globally. The group’s growing force of more than 20,000 volunteers is a national groundswell dedicated to empowering the world to celebrate the LGBTQIA+ community through a nationwide movement of love and acceptance.
Kaleidoscope Youth Center serves and supports LGBTQ+ youth and young adults by providing supportive and collaborative services that encourage individuals to stand in their strengths, their power, and to stand for a world where everyone can be their most confident, authentic self. KYC seeks to recognize and challenge systems of power that perpetuate barriers and injustice in young people’s lives.
Stand with Trans is saving lives one person at a time by helping trans youth build resilience, gain confidence and find hope for a future filled with joy. Founded in 2015 by a passionate mom, the organization continues to grow, serving an international population of families. Stand with Trans provides trans-affirming support groups, therapy assistance, and other beneficial events and workshops.
The mission of the LIAM Foundation is to encourage, heal, and empower the LGBTQIA+ community through Love, Integrity, Advocacy, and Mentorship. The organization is the first of its kind in the region, connecting the Northern Illinois LGBTQIA+ community with valuable resources as well as providing educational services to a number of schools, businesses, and organizations.
