This month, we are learning more about the organization The Equality Crew and how it works to support the LGBTQ+ community. This organization is one of the four nonprofits that will receive a grant from the Mama Bears Giving Circle in the second grant round!
About The Equality Crew
The Equality Crew exists to create safe spaces for LGBTQ+ youth to gather and have fun being their true selves.
The Equality Crew provides and/or identifies resources and referrals for LGBTQ+ youth, from PreK through high school, and their allies, including parents/caregivers, near peers, LGBTQ+ adults, teachers and community members in Northwest Arkansas and the surrounding areas.
The organization is launching My Crew, a small group mentoring program housed in a drop-in site for LGBTQ+ youth in Northwest Arkansas. My Crew is designed to ensure that LGBTQ+ youth are getting their social and emotional needs met through strong and consistent mentorship and peer community-building.
